Lindell misses 47 yarder at end

4 game losing streak dampers post-season hopes

First: I'm writing an email to Mike Terico's radio show saying I expect more from a broadcaster who went to Syracuse.  Bringing up the Norwood kick before Lindell went for the game winner, and discussing it at length not only shows a lack of depth as a broadcaster, but had to relevance to the current game other than the Bills were attempting a field goal.  It never ceases to amaze me how broadcasters will talk about the same thing every chance they get.  I'm surprised we didn't see a replay of the McGahee injury during the game.

Let me say some more things about this, even though I pledged not to:

After Sunday there are those who feel that JP Losman is the solution to the Bills problems. I fall on the opposite side of this thinking-  the give aways are an issue, no doubt about it, but personally I'm willing to live with Trent's mistakes because I see potential.  I'm worried Edwards is putting too much on his own shoulders and thus will hurt his development.  He set the bar high early on, but he's still barely a season into his career.  Dick Juron put it best at halftime when asked about Edwards: "He's a very good player, but he's also very young and right now we are having to deal with young mistakes".  The guy already has 5 4th quarter come back wins in his short career, to me, that's something you can build on.  He's not some high priced free agent (Bledsoe) or 1st round draft pick (JP) that we spent tons of money on.  He's a 3rd round pick from a mediocre football school, I think that earns him time to grow and we should be patient. They were not a super bowl team this year regardless of how well he plays.  If the Bills could just stay MODERATELY healthy one of these years, they might actually be able to make a run.

Fond Farewell's to:

Jabari Greer
Aaron Shobel (underrated impact)
Donte Whitner
Ashton Youboty (underrated impact)
Josh Reed (underrated impact)
Melvin Fowler
Angelo Crowell ( I think he probably could have started playing like 3 weeks ago, but of course we rushed him on to IR)

A few of these guys are already done for the year, wouldn't be surprised if we don't see any of them for the remainder of the season.  I know every team has injuries, but other teams have more depth, the Bills reserves are all very younng.

Yeah, we had a good start and the playoff hopes have faded, but they are not dead yet.  None of the teams in the playoff hunt are above losing a bunch of games down the stretch.  This game hurt, no doubt, but again we need to keep in perspective the youth on this team.  Once again this is a team of young players trying to over come some major injuries.  You have a first year offensive coordinator who is learning as well.  I like the group of guys on this team, they don't quit.  No matter how poorly the bills have played recently, they have been in the game at the end (besides maybe the Pats game).  I would love to go to the playoffs, but I think the Bills having something developing here.  Before Kelly there was a long drought of failure in Buffalo and then the franchise turned a corner, I think these players have the chance to turn that same corner in the next year or two and get the franchise rolling.  Brady's career is in question, Favre has maybe a season or 2 left in him, Pennington is also aging, I think the Bills are in a good position to be a force in the AFC East sooner than later...  I recommend lots of alcohol until that happens...

BTW, after two full seasons, here's some stats for Jim Kelly: QB rating of 81, 59% completion percentage, 29 INT's, and a record of 10-18.  Glad we gave him a third year because in that third year the bills went 12-4 (even though he threw another 17 INT's with a QB rating of 78.2)

and as for Edwards failing on the big stage, while we're on the subject of our HALL OF FAME QB, his super bowl stats are:

0-4 record, 56.3 completion %, 2td's to 7 int's, and a rating of 62.7 ....... and I love him still to this day!
