Bills waste no time improving team with release of George Edwards

A disappointing second half to the 2011 NFL season led the Buffalo Bills the day after our final game to part ways with Defensive Coordinator George Edwards and concurrently name Dave Wannstedt to head our defense in 2012. The move promises to leave a respected voice seeking improved talent for our defense this offseason, with an emphasis on an outside rushing threat to complement the interior of our defensive front. That interior D Line unit is likely to be among the best in the NFL in 2012 with the return of Kyle Williams following a November surgery to remove a bone spur from his left ankle. That surgury was deemed a success and Williams believes the removal of the spur that had followed him from his days in college will lead to his being more effective than ever in the NFL in our upcoming 2012 season.

Let's all hope the team sees fit to complement an improving defense with a premier young rushing threat to turn the heat up on the three step drop passing offenses we see regularly in the AFC East. We took a step forward in 2011 and with the added talent we get in 2012 we should expect to move into the ranks of the competitive in the NFL on a weekly basis.
